SPEAKING EVENTS & TOPICS

Apologetics Topics

Christ in All Things

An apologetic analysis of Christ-like figures or archetypes from world religions, ancient philosophy, comic books, and most importantly, the Bible.

Tactfully Reaching the LGBTQ People Group

A positive apologetic method that helps those who identify in the LGBTQIA2+ spectrum find their identity in Christ.

Understanding Geopolitical Islam vs. Folk Islam

We will explore Islamic history, thought, and culture, and contrast folk Islam with geopolitical Islam.

Comparative Religion

Understanding the religious other is key to evangelism and missions. We can discuss Hinduism, Buddhism, or Islam, in contrast to Christianity, and explain why Christianity makes the best sense of reality.

Intro to Apologetics

Sometimes helping people see the need for apologetics is a necessary step in our teaching. This talk is designed to make a case and introduce the art of apologetics to the everyday person.

Understanding Aliens & Ghosts

Ghost stories have always been popular, and aliens have recently spurred the imagination of billions. The supernatural realm is often misunderstood, and these two subjects are at the forefront of our cultural confusion.

Intersections of Science and Faith

Science and the Christian faith are not only compatible, but history shows that we would not be where we are today in the sciences without theism. In fact, science points powerfully to God’s existence.

The Decline of Western Thought

Since the Enlightenment, faith has been characterized as irrational, and reason has been enthroned as the only way to discover truth. This has caused a cultural decline that poets, philosophers, and theologians predicted. Only a return to theism can make sense of the present cultural chaos in the West.

Answering NAR

The New Apostolic Reformation (or NAR) is a global movement that is spreading rapidly and bringing with it all kinds of problems. From destroying Christian truth, to abusive leadership, and misconceptions of God, the NAR movement must be addressed Scripturally and in haste.

A World of Religions

Understanding the religious other is key to evangelism and missions. We can discuss Hinduism, Buddhism, or Islam, in contrast to Christianity, and explain why Christianity makes the best sense of reality.

Answering Islam

We will examine common objections from the Qur’an and Muslim apologists & give some clear answers to their arguments from the Medieval period to the present day.

Let's Talk Politics & Religion

What does it mean to think critically about Christian civic duty? Should we all get in on a political candidate? How do we interact with brothers and sisters we disagree with in a polarized society?

The Life and Work of C.S. Lewis

C.S. Lewis was raised in the church but became an atheist in his teen years, only to find authentic belief in adulthood and write some of the most notable Christian works in the history of the church. We will explore his life and some of his most notable ideas in a thoughtful discussion.

Is Christianity a White Man's Religion

I have heard people ponder this question from classrooms in America to the villages in East Africa. In this talk, I delve into the origins of Christianity and carefully dissect the difference between genuine Christianity and what some would call cultural baggage.

Theological Topics

What does it mean to be Human?

Unlike many secular humanist philosophies, the Bible provides a very positive view of what it means to be human. This presentation dives deeply into the Imago Dei doctrine and explains how God sees humanity.

Jesus - The God Man & Messiah

Understanding the significant roles of Jesus in justification and the importance of His humanity and divinity.

Theology & Practice of Prayer

Christian prayer is rich, and understanding its depths is lifegiving. We will discuss prayer according to Jesus and how to remain encouraged in the believer’s prayer life.

Heresies & Orthodoxy

An examination of ancient heresies and how Biblical scholarship addressed them.

The Trinity

The Trinity is one of the most important, yet least understood, doctrines of the faith. This talk is outlined through the lens of Scripture and early Christian thought through the lens of the Apostle’s Creed.

Intro to Demonology

Demonology is understandably confusing. What I share is what the Bible teaches about spiritual warfare, what the enemy is, and how we overcome the enemy's tactics as believers.

The Holy Spirit

A clear understanding of the Holy Spirit’s role in salvation, sanctification, ministering gifts, and work throughout the history of the church.

Sermon Samples

Fully Surrendering to Jesus Christ

Nicodemus represents the one who has done all the right things yet needs the gospel. This sermon shows how Jesus respectfully challenges the teacher of Israel, and following Nicodemus’ story throughout the Gospel of John, how he eventually gives his life to Christ.

Change One Life & Change a Culture

The Samaritan woman represents the “hard to talk to” person. Jesus tactfully challenges this woman and treats her with graciousness and dignity, far beyond what she deserves. This sermon teaches us how to deal with difficult people.

Raised With Christ

I give my testimony of becoming a Christian in jail and finding my calling as an evangelist, apologist, and leader in the body of Christ.

In Defense of Grace

What is God’s grace, and how does grace work in the life of a believer? This sermon reaches well beyond the typical basic definition and brings the hearer deep into God’s heart with an emphasis on redemption and justice.

Mere Christian Theology

The basics of the faith in which we all agree.

Sin
Understanding the problem of sin and its pollution helps us grasp the depths of justification and sanctification.

Justification
Being saved from the guilt, shame, and power of sin gives a believer freedom and begins a lifelong process of becoming like Christ.

Sanctification
Growing in grace and being filled with the Holy Spirit is intrinsic to the life of faith.
